Today, East Midlands Trains informed me that they would refund some unused train tickets. Lovely people. Amazingly, my letter (explaining why my film club colleagues and I didn’t travel to London when it really snowed last month) worked!

Goes to show, if you want a company to take notice these days, forget phone calls and emails, use the traditional way. A letter can be so much more persuasive.
