Currently, Apple are trying to trademark the term ‘App Store’. They reckon it’s theirs uniquely and not just a generic term used by everybody. I wonder if I can get sued for calling my vacuum cleaner a Hoover when it obviously isn’t…

Whatever the arguments for and against, it’s good to see that companies do still put importance on language. KFC have just changed their Finger Lickin’ Good slogan to So Good  (to be less “food-centric”!). Elsewhere, Cumbria Police have rebranded (in case people weren’t sure what they did?) and invested in a new strapline too: Safer Stronger Cumbria.
